Buyers searching are unlikely to run into the firm.
Built for cybersecurity service firms
See whether buyers and AI engines can find, understand and verify your firm.
Switch on what your firm already has. The Compass shows whether buyers searching Google, and AI assistants answering their questions, can find the firm, place its services, check its proof and reach a useful next step.
Not a lead calculator. It shows what connects, what is missing and where discovery breaks.
We will keep the reading broad across specialist cybersecurity services.
GOOD SECURITY WORK, INVISIBLE IN SEARCH
The work may be excellent. Nobody searching can find it.
If search engines and AI assistants have nothing specific to retrieve, the best work stays buried in referrals, reports and client calls.Buyers cannot tell what the security service means for the problem on their desk.
There is little real delivery evidence to inspect.
Interest has no clear route into the right conversation.
Search engines have nothing specific to index.
Without crawlable pages for each service, buyers and AI crawlers never reach the firm.
02 How the reading works
A transparent model, not an audit.
The Compass turns your switches into four directional signals. It checks nothing on your actual website. A real diagnosis needs crawl data, search data and AI prompt testing, which is what a search visibility review does.
Discoverability
Can search engines and AI crawlers reach and surface the firm?
Weighted most heavily by indexed service pages. Buyer-question content counts fully only when it sits on indexed pages. Independent sources and a consistent identity add to it.
Relevance
Can buyers and AI engines tell what the firm does and for whom?
Driven mainly by answers to buyer questions, then consistent identity, service pages and named expertise. Volume-first outreach without buyer-relevant content lowers it.
Credibility
Is there anything verifiable behind the claims?
Driven mainly by delivery proof, named experts and independent sources, with a bonus when all three are present. Volume-first outreach without proof lowers it.
Inquiry path
Can interest turn into the right conversation?
Driven by a clear next step, which counts fully only alongside indexed service pages, plus proof, follow-up and tracking.
Each signal is scored from 0 to 100. The weights are editorial judgments based on how search and AI discovery generally work, not measured outcomes. Your setup stays in your browser: nothing is sent or stored.
| Score | Label |
|---|---|
| 0–11 | Missing |
| 12–34 | Thin |
| 35–57 | Taking shape |
| 58–79 | Strong |
| 80–100 | Connected |
03 Questions
What the Compass is, and what it is not.
What is the Kryston Compass?
An interactive model of how a cybersecurity service firm becomes discoverable. You switch on what the firm already has (indexed service pages, consistent identity, named expertise, buyer-question content, delivery proof, independent mentions and a clear next step) and the Compass shows which of four discovery signals hold up and where discovery breaks.
Which signals does the Compass score?
Four, each scored from 0 to 100 and labelled Missing, Thin, Taking shape, Strong or Connected:
- Discoverability: whether search engines and AI crawlers can reach and surface the firm.
- Relevance: whether buyers and AI engines can tell what it does and for whom.
- Credibility: whether anything verifiable sits behind the claims.
- Inquiry path: whether interest can turn into the right conversation.
Does the Compass check my actual website?
No. It models the inputs you select rather than crawling your site, and nothing you enter leaves your browser. A diagnosis of a real website uses crawl and indexing data, Search Console queries and AI prompt testing, which is what a search visibility review covers.
Why do the elements affect each other?
Because discovery is sequential. Buyer-question content cannot be found if the service pages behind it are not indexed, and a clear next step only converts once buyers can find and verify the firm first. The Compass weights each element by what has to exist before it counts.
How is this different from an SEO audit?
An audit measures a specific website. The Compass is a model: it shows which combinations of signals produce discovery and which leave a firm invisible, so a team can see where its own gaps sit before commissioning any measurement.
